And the winner is... Refugees go Solar+ !

What a great start into 2023! We are proud to be among the winners of this year's Watt d'Or, the seal of approval for energy excellence awarded by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy: Refugees go Solar+, our joint venture program with Solafrica, was awarded the "Special Jury Prize".

A very big thank you goes to our partner companies in the solar industry who made this award possible in the first place.

Refugees fo Solar+ is Gewinner des Watt d'Or, dem Schweizer Gütesiegel für Energieexzellenz. RGS+ ist ein gemeinsames Projekt von Root & Branch und Solafrica.

On the one hand, there is the booming Swiss solar industry, which is looking for skilled workers. On the other hand, there are many refugees who would like to work but have difficulty accessing the labor market due to a lack of professional qualifications recognized in Switzerland. With our industry qualification program REFUGEES GO SOLAR+ (RGS+), we are building a bridge between these two worlds.

Refugees go Solar+, which began in 2019 as a pilot project for the professional integration of refugees, has so far been able to establish itself in over ten cantons in Switzerland. In three years, around 60 participants have been trained - ten of whom have obtained permanent positions in the solar industry in the last six months alone.
